Mahnoor Shahzad

Mahoor Shahzad is a Pakistani Badminton player who was born on 17 October 1996 from karachi and currently she is residing in Karachi, Pakistan. Mahnoor was the women’s singles champion at the 2017 Pakistan International tournament. She has competed at the 2014 Asian Games, and 2018 Commonwealth Games.

She is known to be the Pakistan's no.1 badminton player. Her Career is described based on the achievements she got at the national and international career.
Her National Performances include:

  • Ranking Championship in Peshawar in April 2019.
  • National Championship in Lahore in January 2019.
  • Ranking Championship in Quetta in July 2018.
  • Ranking Championship in Islamabad in April 2018.
  • National Championship in Lahore in January 2018.

And her International Performances include

  • Nepal International Series in December 2018.
  • Dubai International Challenge in November 2018.
  • Bahrain International Series in November 2018.
  • Egypt International Series in October 2018.
  • Asian Games 2018 in Indonesia in August 2018.
  • Commonwealth Games 2018 in Australia in April 2018.

In a private interview she said "I am a national level player but now I want to win medals in international tournaments as well," Stating the 2020 Olympics as her next target Shahzad said, “I need to get into the top 70 and for that to happen, I need to play as many tournaments as possible.”
Earlier in 2018, Mahoor Shahzad also won the Annapurna Corporate Invitational International Badminton Tournament Championships in Nepal.
The invitational tournament was joined by players from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Nepal, which was scheduled from 23rd to 28th July in Kathmandu, Nepal. On reaching the final, Mahoor defeated Nepal’s Rashila Maharajan by scoring 21-15 and 21-10 during the series. Among Badminton Asia’s selections, Mahoor was also chosen for the Asian Olympic Project (AOP) Program to prepare her for next Olympics.
Her Highest rankings which she maintained and is improving on are:

  • 405 (WD 27 October 2016)
  • 246 (WS 23 March 2017)
  • 192(WS 8 November 2018)
