Prime Minister Imran Khan Visit To United States

Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran khan left for a visit to the United States of America for a 3-day official visit on 20 July 2019 (Saturday). The President of the United States invited Prime Minister Imran Khan to White House in Washington to discuss some trivial issues and to seek peace and to melt the thick ice between the two countries. It is the first time(maiden) that Prime Minister Imran Khan is visiting the United States of America.
According to details, Prime Minister Imran Khan will meet US President Donald Trump on July 22. Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi who is already in Washington as part of the entourage will accompany Imran Khan alongside Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

Trump and Imran Khan will discuss the trivial matters about defense, energy, and counter-terrorism and bringing peace to South Asia and an enduring partnership between our two countries Sources said the meeting would discuss Pak-US relations, the Afghan peace process and Pakistan’s support for Taliban dialogue. Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that PM Imran Khan will hold meetings with the business community and the representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He will also meet the Pakistani community. The visit will focus on strengthening cooperation between the United States and Pakistan to bring peace, stability, and economic prosperity to a region that has seen far too much conflict, the White House press secretary said.
Previous leaders visited the U.S which were successful.

Zardari went to the United States in January 2011 to attend Special Envoy Holbrooke's funeral. Following Osama bin Laden's death in a compound in Abbottabad in May 2011, Obama called Zardari and collaborated on the events.
At the invitation of President Obama, Prime Minister Sharif paid an official visit to Washington from October 20 to 23, 2015 reinforcing the commitment of both leaders to an enduring U.S.-Pakistan partnership, a prosperous Pakistan, and a more stable
region.
Following Nawaz Sharif's visit General Raheel Sharif too visited the U.S from November 15-20, where trivial matters of defense mechanism were discussed.
